Awarding QVM in Action

For those of us who perform vegetation management – whether on a roadside, utility right-of-way, public or private land – it is our duty to help make this world a better place. Quality Vegetation Management™ helps us do just that.

Quality Vegetation Management (QVM) is a set of principles that create and sustain healthy habitats through professional, ethical and responsible practices. Now, there's a program designed to recognize and reward your QVM efforts.

Sponsored by BASF Professional Vegetation Management (ProVM), the QVM Project Habitat Awards are presented to exceptional vegetation management projects that exemplify the principles and practices of QVM.

The QVM Project Habitat Awards reward projects that:
  • Restore and improve plant, animal and human habitats
  • Seek out and support professional certification and technical training
  • Strive to always make a positive environmental change
  • Apply herbicide responsibly, using the appropriate  amount to achieve the desired results
  • Protect threatened and endangered species
  • Support industry research and development
  • Follow label recommendations

  Who Is Eligible?
Anyone who practices QVM may submit a project for the QVM Project Habitat Awards. In the beginning of each calendar year, land managers and owners can develop new vegetation management projects, or create programs on already managed areas, that can be nominated later in the year. A managed project must fall into one of the following categories:

1. Utility Market

2. Forestry Market

3. Aquatic

4. Roadside

5. Invasive Weed Management

6. Specialty

Land managers, owners, or QVM Certified Applicators must make all chemical applications to be eligible. If you would like additional information regarding the QVM Project Habitat awards program, or to locate a QVM Certified Applicator in your area, contact your local BASF ProVM sales specialist.

BASF is proud to have American Tree Farm System (ATFS), Land and Water Magazine, National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), Public Works Magazine, Roads and Bridges Magazine and Rural Electric Magazine as participants the QVM Project Habitat Awards program. These sponsors recognize companies and individuals using vegetation management practices that help native habitats thrive.
